Hi,
Well, the audio version of Wanted: Liars,
Thieves, and Murderers is almost ready! I
only have six chapters left to record, and
those will probably be done later today.
But, I need your input.
How much is it worth to be able to hear this
work?
Remember, this is a book that will be able to
help people understand that their life can
move forward regardless of their past.
It’s a book that can be used by churches to
help people come to salvation.
And, it’s even got some of my ir-repressible
humor in it.
The man who kicked me into gear showed me
flat out that I can’t give stuff away forever.
And nobody is donating.
So, my question is this:
What is it worth? $5? $10? $17? $27?
I know that actual physical audio books sell
for around $29. But, they have a
mass-marketing machine that lets them do
that. And, this book will be instantly
downloadable, so it saves me headaches of
having to deal with delays, shipments, and
logistics.
But, I need to know from you what it is
worth.
Anyhow, enough of that, how about some
wisdom? (That’s why you’re really here,
isn’t it?)
I recently hit a low in my day time job.
No, I won’t go into the details, but needless
to say, it caused me and some of my family
members a lot of grief.
I began questioning why I am here? If I can’t
reach real success with my day job, than what
good am I?
And, then I realized that I had pinned all my
hopes on relying on others. The problem was
not that I had not done my job, but that the
people that I relied on for success in my job
couldn’t complete their part in a timely
manner.
It’s called “locus of control.” The “locus”
(no, this is nothing to do with them
grasshopper like creatures known as locust
that are mentioned as John the Baptist eating
and what plagued the Pharoah of Moses’ time)
is the location of where the control lies.
I cannot “control” other people. As a matter
of fact, Wallace Wattles said that would be
wrong to do so. But, I can control what I can
do.
I’ve found some alternatives in case my day
job doesn’t work out. But, that’s because
“I” chose to locate the alternatives.
There are no earthly people that you can rely
on infallibly. There are some who will be
more reliable than others, but there are no
earthly people that you can 100% rely on.
But, you can rely on the “universe” whom I
choose to call God. You can align yourself
with universal laws, and control what YOU can
do.
When you are down, when you have given up
hope, remember this: “the universe” (code
word “God”) has not given up on you. There
is another path that is better in the long
run. But, you have to believe. It will reveal
itself.
In other words, it ain’t over until you’re
dead. And you obviously ain’t dead, yet,
because you are reading this, aren’t you?
(And, even when you’re dead, there’s a better
“life” where you are headed.)
Make it a great day in the Lord!
